On-Demand classes

With your TPY membership you’ll have unlimited access to our hundreds of on-demand classes. At least 4 new classes are added weekly so there’s always fresh content waiting for you. 

To cancel your membership, be sure to Log In to the membership library, click your name, click ‘My Settings’, and under ‘Subscriptions’ click Cancel.

The filter bar makes finding the right class easy. Classes can be searched by level, duration, series, style, and focus. You can also be more specific by using key words in the search bar.

We suggest starting with our Super Beginner Primer series, or any of our other Super Beginner classes. If you are more athletic and looking to start with greater intensity, we suggest our 2022 Beginner’s Track 30-Day challenge which you can easily find in the filter bar.

Our next 30-Day Yoga Challenge begins on January 1st, 2023. What makes our program unique is that we film all new content each year and provide two different tracks, one for beginners and one for mixed levels. And if you’ve missed prior challenges, fret not, as those classes are in the library for you to practice with when you’re ready.

Our roots are in alignment based yoga. We’ve been studying various forms of yoga and bio-mechanically informed movement for decades. We bring all sorts of influences into our teaching and also seek to honor the roots of the yoga tradition at its core. You can expect to find intelligent sequences, postures held for extended periods of time with healing alignment cues, vinyasa classes (flow), gentle practices, modifications with props, breath work, yoga philosophy, meditation, and more. And most importantly, our classes are where the sacred meets play, and welcoming to all!

We recommend  using Chrome whenever possible, but regardless of the browser you’re using, ensure it is the most up-to-date version available. Secondly, ensure your WiFi connection is strong  and try clearing your cookies and cache. If the issue persists, verify that the issue is consistent across browsers (ie: Firefox, Safari) and devices (laptop, mobile, etc.). This information will help the troubleshooting process. Please reach out to us (info@thousandpetalsyoga), if you’re still having issues and include as much information as possible, including screenshots when available so we can get this taken care of right away.

Log In to the TPY membership library. Click on the drop-down arrow next to your name on the upper right-hand corner, then select “My Settings”. Scroll down to Subscriptions and click on the button, “Update payment info”. Type in your updated card information and click Confirm.

Note: If you can’t see your subscription that means that it has been canceled already and you repurchase the product from the studio with your new card.

In-Person Classes

In-person classes are held at Sfeer Studio, 200 Britton Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. The studio is on a residential property (veer left at the fork in the driveway) and is a truly special and unique place. Sommer’s classes are held Mondays at 6pm and Tuesdays at 9am. Paul’s class is on Thursdays at 6pm. Full schedule and registration HERE.

Drop-ins and 10 class packs are by sliding scale. Drop-ins: $10-$20, 10-class packs: $150-$200. When you press the ‘Register’ button the dropdown will give you the option to ‘Purchase Classes’ for the 10-class pack or ‘Pay to Drop-in’ for individual classes.

Students of all levels are welcome to experience our in-person classes. Alignment cues are offered throughout class, props are often used, and modifications are given for students of various levels. We invite everybody to move at their own level and to find one’s own growth edge. These classes are not suitable for those with major injuries.

If you have a history of movement practice, a playful spirit, or you are fairly athletic, these classes might hit the sweet spot for you. If you are looking for slower and more mellow classes, we suggest trying our on-demand library to get started. We have loads of beginner classes in our library and there’s a Free 7-day trial for you to explore. These classes will help prepare you for the in-person experience.

Our classes are playful and community oriented. We like to get to know our students, and students enjoy getting to know each other. You can expect to work hard and laugh a lot while working hard. Each class begins with a theme/intention, moves through a variety of thoughtfully sequenced postures, and always ends with a long, blissful savasana.

As a small business with limited class size (classes are capped at 24 students), pre-registration is required for all in-person classes. There is a 6-hour cancellation policy. 10 class-packs and drop-ins will be charged if you don’t cancel at least 6 hours before class starts to allow other students to take your spot if you are unable to attend.

Live Stream Classes

Sommer’s live stream classes are held on Mondays at 6-7:15pm and Tuesdays at 9-10am. Paul’s live stream classes are held on Wednesdays at 5:30-6:30pm and Saturdays at 10-11am. All classes are based on EST. Register HERE.

Live streams are by donation in order to make classes accessible for everyone. Suggested donation is $10-$20. Donate HERE. As a small business, all donations are appreciated and make this model possible and sustainable. For those who can give more, your contributions allow us to never turn anyone away.

For those with the ability to both sign up for our membership library and donate for our live streams, we greatly appreciate your contributions. For those with limited funds, we suggest signing up for our Membership Library at $25/month and making that your donation to attend live streams. This will also give you access to hundreds of on-demand classes. 

Live streams are via broadcast which means nobody can see you. Only Sommer or Paul leading the practice will be visible on the screen so you are free to practice in your jammies. There is a lively ‘chat’ happening during live stream classes so you’ll still feel plugged in to the community.
